Shaffer Log Home
Pennsylvania
High atop the mountains of Somerset County, Pennsylvania, Mark Shaffer’s log home is the ultimate retreat—his very own “man cave.” Built from a custom Cape Cod-style design similar to the McKay, the home features a spacious great room with soaring timbers, large angled windows, and a wood-burning fireplace, creating the perfect place to relax after a long day outdoors. Hickory floors and cabinetry add warmth throughout, while the finished basement serves as his taxidermy workspace. After years of waiting, Mark finally proved the naysayers wrong—his dream log home requires little maintenance and delivers endless enjoyment.
