Hocking Hills Lodge

Logan, OH

Completed in 2022, the new Hocking Hills State Park Lodge is a landmark project for southeast Ohio—a large-scale public facility designed to welcome guests in every season. Hochstetler Log Homes was honored to supply the structural timber package for this iconic build, which brings together the natural beauty of Hocking Hills with modern hospitality and amenities.

Where Natural Beauty Meets Public Space

Located in Logan, Ohio, the 74,000-square-foot lodge includes 81 guest rooms, a full-service restaurant, meeting and conference facilities, and spacious public gathering areas with sweeping views of the forested hills. From the outset, the vision for the lodge was clear: create a structure that felt deeply connected to its surroundings—rooted in the land and reflective of the park’s unique character. Timber construction was central to achieving that goal.

Hochstetler provided the pine timbers used throughout the lodge’s post and beam framework. These structural elements are visible in the grand lobby, the open-raftered ceilings, and the covered exterior walkways that welcome guests into the building. Every timber was milled to precise specifications, ensuring both structural integrity and visual consistency across the project.

We worked closely with the project’s architects and builders to coordinate deliveries, meet engineering requirements, and provide materials at scale without compromising on quality. The result is a structure that feels both enduring and welcoming—an ideal base for visitors exploring the cliffs, waterfalls, and forests of Hocking Hills.

As one of the most significant timber builds in recent Ohio public construction, the lodge is a standout example of how traditional materials can be used in contemporary settings. It showcases the timeless appeal of wood, the value of good planning, and the craftsmanship of all involved. Hochstetler Log Homes is proud to have contributed to a space that will serve Ohioans and park visitors for generations to come.
